The ones who can stand the longest time on... W:O:A pole-sitting contest goes into the next round! The ones who can stand the longest time on a pole will receive a W:O:A VIP-Upgrade. Rules: The rules are fairly simple. You need stand 6 hours on one of the poles. Except for 10 minutes every 2 hours, the seat may not be left. So you can enjoy the festival in an height of 2.5 m and have a look while the bands are playing on Black & True stage. Donations: Like in the last year, four companies will take sponsorship for one pole each. For every hour you have been sitting on the pole they are going to donate € 10 to the Wacken Foundation. The Foundation is a charitable organization, which deals in the request of the Wacken Open Air promoter, while supporting young metal bands. For more information on the festival you are invited to visit the Wacken Foundation Camp right across the pole-sitting. Here you can ask questions about the foundation activities and who has been supported by the foundation yet. As a feature in this year there will be one pole for people who would like to take a picture or shortly enjoy the view. For a little donation you may take place on one of the poles. Gojira will play at the Wacken Open Air for the second time by now and the band steps into the breach which was cut into the billing by As I Lay Dying. The band plays a complex mixture of extreme metal genres and elements and released its fifth album in 2012. We are looking forward to see them in Wacken again! At last, Uli Jon Roth played with the Scorpions and Avantasia in Wacken. But now it is again time to listen to the very own material of the mastermind. Supported by his guest musicians, multi talent Roth is going to rock Wacken again! Run Liberty Run, former known as RUNE, has finally left the training camp. Now they are going to play the stages in Germany and other countries. After their fulminant debut in 2012 Santiano are coming back to Wacken again – with their new album in their luggage! Everyone who has just a little interest in party sailor music should add this performance to the personal running order! For the already third time, the Bavarian beer garden will be entertained by the iconic band Blechblos’n and the Wackinger Stage will be enhanced by Ignis Fatuu.
