Tobias is the singer and frontman of the German Heavy Metal band "Edguy" as well as the mastermind of the legendary solo project "Avantasia". He was born on November 21st 1977 in Fulda, a small town in the middle of Germany. At the age of seven he learned how to play organ and later on started a Heavy Metal band with his schoolmates in February 1992: EDGUY. Back then no one outside the band (in which Tobias became the singer and frontman) would have bet on the band to become as an important institution in the international Heavy Metal scene as it is today. To this day Edguy have toured more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, South and Central America and the USA. They were one of the first Western Rock bands to ever play Israel or China. The most recent album "Rocket Ride" entered the charts in numerous countries all over the world and peaked on #8 in Germany. Besides this exemplary career as a team player Tobias has as well established himself as a solo-artist, initiating the all-star project "Tobias Sammet's Avantasia" in 1999. The unexpected breathtaking success of the two albums (Avantasia - The Metal Opera pt. 1 & 2) maybe also ignited the last missing spark to Edguy's international breakthrough in 2001. To be continued!
