Bio



2005
– Members from two Jyväskylä, Finland -based stoner rock bands, Sunride and Zerocharisma (later
Revolt), unite and form Ghost Brigade. Aleksi from Swallow The Sun joins in as a session keyboardist.
Both Sunride and Zerocharisma/Revolt later break up or are put to hiatus.
2006
– The band records their first demo in Helsinki with engineer Mikko Poikolainen. The demo features four
tracks; "Autoemotive", "Hold On Thin Line", "Based On You" & "Away And Here". All of these songs were
later completely re-recorded for their debut album.
– Ghost Brigade signs to french label Season Of Mist and start writing songs for their yet-untitled debut
album.
– The band plays their first ever show in their hometown at Kickstart Festival.
2007
– In January Ghost Brigade enter Seawolf Studios in Helsinki to record their debut album, "Guided By Fire"
with engineer Mikko Poikolainen. The album is set to feature re-recorded versions of all four demo tracks
as well as six new songs. The album was mixed by Aaro Seppovaara from the finnish band Blake.
– "Guided By Fire" gets released by Season Of Mist on September 17th as digipak CD (digipak CD has
since been sold out and the album has been re-released in normal jewelcase.). Album features Aleksi
Munter on keyboards and Fredrik Nordin from swedish band Dozer doing guestvocals in "Autoemotive".

– The band continues touring in their homecountry with Total Devastation, Shamrain and Insomnium.
2008
– Touring continues in Finland, Poland, The Netherlands, Germany & France. The band makes their first
bigger festival appearances, including Tuska Festival in Finland and Hellfest in France.
– The bands continues the writing process for their sophomore album.
2009
– Aleksi becomes a full member of Ghost Brigade.
– Once again in January, the band enters Seawolf Studios to record their second album, "Isolation Songs".
This time, the band recruits Antti Malinen (guitarist of St. Hood, Down My Throat & Become A Threat) to
engineer and mix the record. The album was mastered at Tonteknik Studio, Sweden (Entombed, In
Flames, Refused etc.)
– "Isolation Songs" gets released by Season Of Mist on both digipak and jewelcase CD on August 3rd. The
album enters the national Top 40 chart in the band's home country at position No. 22 and stays in the
chart for five weeks.
– German label Cyclone Empire Records releases a vinyl edition (limited gatefold 2-LP) off "Isolation
Songs".

– After the release of the new album, touring offers start coming in. The band does a short Finland-tour
with God Is An Astronaut and an European tour with Paradise Lost. They also play a few bigger
festivals during late summer/early fall, including Summer Breeze in Germany and Brutal Assault in
Czech Republic.
– "Isolation Songs" gets recognized by media: "Album of the month" in both german Metal Hammer and
Inferno and very good feedback in most major magazines. In addition to already making several "Best of
2009"-lists, the album gets voted as the "Record of the year" by both Soundi and Inferno. The band also
wins "Vuoden Femma"-award at the annual Femma Gaala Awards.
– Ghost Brigade ends the year by performing at Helldone Festival with HIM.
2010
– Touring continues. This time the band does a co-headline European tour with fellow band Insomnium in
the spring and another European tour with Amorphis in November.
– Band makes festival appearances at Hellfest (France), Graspop (Belgium), Wacken Open Air (Germany),
Party.San (Germany) Vagos Open Air (Portugal), Ilosaarirock (Finland) and Qstock (Finland).
– Writing for the third Ghost Brigade album goes on.
– Digipak and LP versions of "Isolation Songs" sell out.
– Due to scheduling problems, Aleksi Munter goes back to his original "session keyboardist"-status and
band continues touring as a five piece.
2011
– Ghost Brigade completes the writing process for their third album and starts recording sessions at
Seawolf Studios on March 4th. Once again, Antti Malinen has been hired to take care of engineering and
mixing.
– New album, "Until Fear No Longer Defines Us", gets released on August 19th by Season of Mist Records
on both LP & CD.
