We Butter The Bread With Butter – Band Bio
In 2007 Marcel Neumann and Tobias Schultka decided to create music as a duo. Actually this was no real planned action but more accidental because they made music together in a band and one day they recognized that there is always only the two of them. From that moment on they developed new ideas, first little videos and music which they uploaded on Youtube. In 2008 they released their first album 'Das Monster aus dem Schrank' which was completely produced by themselves in their own home studio. They became famous on Youtube and Myspace very quickly and so Redfield Records (GER) signed them within the next months. With that record deal it was possible to release the album in the USA as well as Japan.

The following year, in 2009, We Butter The Bread With Butter played many live shows and went on tour e.g. with Callejon (GER) and A Day To Remember (US). Of course they also wrote new songs for the upcoming album – 'Der Tag an dem die Welt unterging' - which was released in May 2010.
But as time passed, the guys realized that it was not enough to play live with two members and a bat drummer. So they scouted around for some more band members and found three talented young guys in Maximilian Pauly, who breathed life into the bass guitar, Kenneth Iain Duncan, who started to play the second guitar and Can Özgünsür who replaced the bat, which tragically died.
With that whole new package they toured through Germany and some parts of Europe in 2010 and started to create a fan base in the whole country. In July 2010 the singer Tobias decided to run another path of life. But that was no obstacle for the rest of the band to keep on going and so they played many successful shows and the first big festivals like With Full Force and Summerbreeze within 2010.

2011 was the most successful year for the band so far. They got the chance to play at one of the biggest rock festivals in Europe – Rock am Ring and Rock im Park - and many more other festivals like Fusion (GER) or Greenfield (CH). In spring they went on their first real headlining tour through Germany and in autumn they will go on tour through some European countries, which is the next big step for the guys so far.
You can say that We Butter The Bread With Butter initially started in their children’s room as a duo with the idea to play some music just for themselves and now they have the challenging idea to become the hardest boyband in the world.
