Bio

One day future musical historians will determine the exact time and date, when our beloved US Rock´n Roll got so exquisitely bored, that it moved to Scandinavia. Denmark to be precise. For now, let´s just say that it must have been sometime around the mid eighties. Blame it on Ronald Reagan, on the spandex pants or on the make-up, if you will. Plain natural selection. Shit had to go…

From Copenhagen though emerged a 4-man band by the name of D-A-D, (short for „Disneyland after Dark“), whose guitar riffs were so illegally sexy, that it conquered the northern hemisphere in a constant upward drift of blasting tunes. Those were stormy days, first in Denmark, then all over Europe. In your ear and in your face. Simple, beautiful. Basic, pure and straight. For their audiences it has always been hard not to get swept away by their live performances, when D-A-D for instance repeatedly headlined the Roskilde Festival in front of a comitted crowd of nearly 50.000 or when they charmed their fans with their breakthrough hit „Sleeping my day away“. Huge festivals, major clubs or seedy bars, you name it, the Binzer brothers, Jesper (Voc) and Jacob (Git), supported by Stig Pedersen (B) and Laust Sonne (Dr), are infamous for playing any given venue into a meltdown.

How they do it? Sheer chemistry. Listen to Jesper Binzer´s driving voice and see if you can find a better one in contemporary rock´n roll. Combine his voice and those smart lyrics with his brother Jacob´s kick-ass guitar play and you have a pretty tasty rock´n roll cocktail. Add the multitalented Laust Sonne to your drink, blowing minds behind his stripped down icy jazz-drumkit. Doesn´t look like much, but don´t be fooled. This guy, with a fondness of strange, electronical music is as dangerous as Tequlla. And then top it all off with Stig Pedersen´s stage show. The lefthand two string bass player owns a whole array of bizarre custom made Dennis Dalsgard basses, that need to be seen to be believed. Hell, he even plays an „Olive with a toothpick“. Throw that into your D-A-D Martini and sing along while this Copenhagen foursome will get you drunk with euphoria.

What else? Douple Platinum and music awards have been plenty. Flying shoes and sweating walls and swaying crowds. Missing a D-A-D show in your hometown should be punishable by law. And yes, it is that simple.
By the end of 2011 D-A-D will relase their 11th studioalbum and will also go on an extended worldtour. Your club is not doing so well? Book D-A-D and see what happens…
