Having a good time is what it’s all about. That’s what guitarists Florian & Sam understood from the incredible performance of ZZ Top in their hometown Geneva, june 2009.
After releasing a first album in may 2009, based on energetic metal riffs inspired by Meshuggah, Gojira, Strapping Young Lad & more, they naturally slipped back to their roots, the Blues !
Two years later, summer 2011, Laos Etxemendi of Gojira, jumps in to produce Helmut’s 2nd album XI IX XI. Based on dirty bluesy riffs, the guitars are supported by metal dominants on drums and vocals.
Those influences brought the band to a quite unique sound and style that fit the live performances like a perfect sized stetson. The heaviness and the swing combined together set the goal to make one’s feel like a shiny pimped out tractor.
The album has been released, and so is the Band !
To answer the question whether Helmut plays blues or metal, and to pay tribute to the Reverend Billy F. Gibbons, the answer is definitely : HELL YEAH !
