YAKSA is one of China´s first Metal Bands. They became active in the Chinese Rock scene as early as 1995.

Yaksa was among the first of the wave of metal bands that appeared on the largely underground rock scene in Beijing in the late 90's. With its thick, powerful sound and ultra-aggressive growling vocals, the band's style was a departure from that of the punk rock bands that were the fad of the moment.

So far they already attended more than 500 gigs both in live house and festivals in China, and have been the headliner of China´s biggest, largest and best Rock Festival – Midi Festival - in the last six years.
