While you are maybe still packing sleeping bag, patched vest and a beer or two to make your pilgrimage to Wacken next year, the festival site itself is far from quiet. Obviously, since you cannot build the world's biggest metal festival over night…

We are reporting here straight from the field, while it is being turned into the "Holy Wacken Land". We will talk to the people who are setting it up and keeping it running, and about the village itself, whose 1850 inhabitants are preparing for a nice weekend visit by some 70.000 metalheads…
