Rock 'n Roll Photography Workshop returns for W:O:A 2026 – Applications are open!
Some people chase the perfect stage shot. We want the stories happening all around it.
For the fifth time, the Rock 'n Roll Photography Workshop returns to Wacken Open Air. Led by legendary photojournalist Pep Bonet, six photographers will spend four days documenting the Holy Ground from the inside – creating the images that capture what Wacken is really about.
The theme for 2026 is simple:
HARDER
We're looking for photographers who can tell stories beyond the headliners. The crowd. The crew. The volunteers. The madness, the laughter, the exhaustion, the friendships and the moments that only exist for a split second.
During the workshop you'll shoot, edit and produce content live for Wacken Open Air's official channels.
Selected participants receive:
- Free participation in the workshop Festival ticket
- Accommodation during the workshop
- Crew catering
- Shuttle from Hamburg Airport or Hamburg Central Station
- Full media access and shooting permits
