You have been hoping for so long, now it finally is happening: Next year we will open the infield on Wednesday for the very first time in the history of W:O:A and offer a fat bonus program with our limited additional ticket.
The lineup for the extra day will be led by none other than Rammstein singer Till Lindemann, with his new solo project Lindemann, who will play his first ever solo festival show with us.
The stage will be set for him by an absolute fan favorite. We are not allowed to reveal the name of this band yet. But this much can be said: The musicians have already made the infield in Wacken rumble many times.
The program will be rounded off by the Swedish crossover veterans Clawfinger and the Metal Battle winners of 2019 Varang Nord.
Important: This is an addition to the already planned program. This means that no band will be moved from the normal program, but instead you will be served additional high profile top acts.
This means in plain language: None of these additional acts would have otherwise played W:O:A 2021.
The tickets are limited. Most likely we will only play on one of the three main stages, so there won't be enough space for every single W:O:A 2021 visitor.

No! The contingent for Wacken Wednesday is limited because we will most likely only open one of the three main stages. Not all 75.000 owners of a Wacken Open Air 2021 ticket will be able to participate at Wacken Wednesday.
So far nobody has received a W:O:A 2021 ticket! But if your exchange process is set to "confirmed" or you have a valid order at Metaltix via our waiting list, your W:O:A 2021 ticket is safe and you can order a ticket for Wacken Wednesday.
If your ticket is still in the verification process, but you have your W:O:A 2020 ticket and there is no doubt about who the ticket belongs to, you can of course also order.
No, the ticket for Wacken Wednesday is only valid in combination with a Wacken Open Air 2021 ticket.

Yes, just like the tickets for Wacken Open Air 2021, the Wacken Wednesday Tickets are completely personalized. Further details about the personalization of the tickets can be found here.
As with Wacken Open Air 2021, there are no classic paper tickets for Wacken Wednesday. Instead, you will receive a digital ticket in time before the start.
Once the shipment of digital tickets for both events starts, there will be a separate announcement.
Event-FAQ
The vast majority of tickets for Wacken Open Air 2021 were originally ordered for the cancelled Wacken Open Air 2020. The price of these tickets is therefore based on the scope of services of the planned Wacken Open Air 2020.
The additional band fees and the additional costs for personnel, infrastructure and co. for Wacken Wednesday are not covered by this planning from summer 2019. Therefore, a realization of Wacken Wednesday without additional costs for the visitor would have only been possible through reductions in the rest of the program and service.
However, since the additional day is rather meant to be a supplement, we have decided on an additional ticket.
Wacken Wednesday is meant as an additional offer and limited to the infield of the Wacken Open Air. This area has never been used on Wednesdays in the past.
All other stages will be played on Wednesday as usual, no band will play less or shorter because of Wacken Wednesday - but if you want to, you can get more than usual.
The program for the remaining stages on Wednesday is still being booked and finalized. Therefore, we can't make any statements at the moment.
This was unfortunately not realizable until now. As organizers, we have to deal with the wishes, needs and rights of the local residents, communities and authorities and these are often diametrically opposed to those of a festival visitor.
In the last few years, however, together with you, we have been able to reduce more and more obstacles and fears. One result of these efforts is the permission to play on the main stages on Wednesday.
No, this is a one-time thing for now.
As with every innovation, we will look at it critically and evaluate all feedback from visitors, residents, authorities and bands. A decision about a possible repetition will only be made after that. Therefore we are currently planning Wacken Wednesday as a once in a lifetime event.
