Bag checks and guidelines for W:O:A 2017

Dear Metalheads,

our security concept for W:O:A is based on constant coordination between the security authorities and us, as well as the exchange with other organizers of major events in Germany. In addition to many invisible arrangements, there are also some that every visitor will notice.

In order to ensure a safe event for all of us, we are also conducting intensive inspections this year at the transitions from the park / camping grounds to the festival grounds.

In order to enable fast access to the stages, it is not allowed to carry bags and backpacks on the festival grounds, the so called "The Holy Wacken Land. This area is made up of Wacken Plaza, Wackinger Village, Wacken Center and Infield.

The W:O A 2017 Full Metal Bag, which is given to every visitor together with his festival band (Wristband), is the only permitted bag in this area.

The regulation for 2017 at a glance:

• All kinds of bags can still be brought along in the park / campgrounds, the prohibition applies only to the festival site.
• Every owner of a 3-day all-in ticket gets a Full Metal Bag when picking up his festival (wristband) band.
• The Full Metal Bag from 2017 is the only bag that can pass the security controls at the main entrance of the festival grounds.
• Lockers are offered near the entrance to the festival grounds (1 and 2 on the overview tables). These can be rented either online or directly at the event. The online registration can be found here .
• Visitors who are dependent on drugs or aids for illness or disability must first register with us. Potentially dangerous items such as syringes must be handed over to the German Red Cross, where they can be stored and refrigerated. The Full Metal Bag is a little more compact this year and can be worn as a backpack or shoulder bag, but also as a belt bag.

It still provides enough room for all important items. Of course this will be controlled at the inlet too! The completely uniform bags promise us a faster and more thorough control than in previous years.
