W:O:A CAMPGROUND

The classic choice—and for most metalheads, the top pick for a place to stay during the Wacken Open Air—many visitors also enjoy spending time here during the day!
The vibe and atmosphere at the W:O:A Campground are legendary.
As long as ground conditions permit, our stewards will assign parking spots to all vehicles so that you can set up your tent right next to them.
Camping (in a tent, RV, trailer, or similar) is included in the ticket price, as is the use of showers and restrooms, which are available in sufficient numbers.
Other amenities included in the ticket price include breakfast tents, light poles, and signposts.
The massive W:O:A Campground is located on farmland.
To make it easier to find your way around, we’ve marked the areas with letters, and the paths on the W:O:A Campground as well...
SILENT DOOM
You and we love loud guitar riffs, drums, and growls.
We simply love and live for heavy metal, but sometimes—especially at night—you need your peace and quiet, too.
And that’s exactly why the Silent Doom camping area has been around since 2026.
In this area, we symbolically put noise-canceling headphones on you and eliminate certain disturbances: no generators at night and a ban on boomboxes—after the last stage performance, absolute quiet reigns here.
Why are we doing this?
Following an increasing number of requests over the past few years for a low-noise camping area, we tested this concept with you in 2026 to see how it was received. Spaces are limited.
Silent Doom is located in the northwest section of the W:O:A campground. The Camping Plaza is a 20-minute walk away. A general restroom facility with toilets and showers, as well as a breakfast tent, are located in the immediate vicinity.
