The first Advent unveils 10 more bands for W:O:A 2024!
Advent Advent – and the first candle burns! What this means for the Wacken Metalhead is pretty clear: Today comes the first of our December-Sunday band announcements! To go in with a bang, we present to you two heavyweight champions. Both Testament and Armored Saint will be joining us back on the field and everyone can probably agree that both bands were able to absolutely smash their Holy Ground gigs every time.
The legendary knights from DragonForce are also no strangers to our little bash and are probably the most „fabulous“ answer to the question of how to combine Speed with Power Metal.
The return of these finnish Vikings should also be legendary - we had to wait 12 years until Insomnium finally storm the W:O:A again – equipped with a new album.
But we don't just want to take a look at existing legends but also at „legends in the making“: Here is a Wacken Premiere - We just can't ignore the Canadian Spiritbox anymore! They are currently pushing boundaries in a highly decorated way and are at the forefront of the new generation Metal brigade. Welcome!
And of course there will be familiar faces: OOMPH! surprised everyone by changing their frontman and are currently delighting everyone in the new line-up. Rage made the LGH explode last year - for their 40th birthday they are coming to the big stage that they deserve.
April Art from Giessen are with us for the first time to convince you of their casual female fronted alternative.
Well and then the moshpit faction can look forward to the appropriate background music: We invited Flogging Molly, as a worthy representative of Irish Folk Punk and the Californians from Zebrahead to bring you just the right mix of Rock and Skate Punk.
We hope we were able to give you a nice first Advent with these program additions and see you again on Wednesday when Santa opens his bag with a many more surprises!
