At W:O:A 2022, payment will only be possible with Cashless Payment. This means that cash will no longer be accepted on site at the merchandise, food and drink stands. Your festival wristband will contain a so-called RFID chip, which makes Cashless Payment possible!
You can add funds both online in advance and during the festival and then shop quickly and conveniently on site.

Create an Account
Create an account in the event portal cashless.wacken.com or log in with your Wacken ID!
If you have bought tickets for your friends, please remember to assign them to the respective friends in the Wacken Ticketcenter before.
It is only possible to manage one ticket per Wacken ID at the event portal.
Top Up Money
In the event portal cashless.wacken.com you can see the ticket assigned to your Wacken ID. You can easily top up this by using the available payment methods.
The RFID chip attached to your festival wristband will be already fully charged when you arrive at the wristband exchange!
Top Up on the festival site
In case your RFID chip runs out of credit, you can easily top up your festival wristband with credit at one of the many TopUp stations on the site. This can be done in cash or with an EC/credit card. You can also access the event portal online at any time and book mobile credit on your wristband.
You can transfer remaining credit back at the end of the event via the event portal cashless.wacken.com.
Cashless Payment - What does this mean?
Cashless payment is using an RFID chip, which will be on your festival wristband. With this you can easily pay for everything the W:O:A heart desires on the entire festival site from beer to t-shirts.
Cashless payment offers you many advantages: Since only cashless payments are made on the entire festival site, the processes at the counters and stands are faster and easier so that any waiting times are reduced. In addition you always have enough money with you, safely stowed on your wrist.

- Shorter waiting times at the stands thanks to faster checkout
- All transaction receipts can be viewed online
- The RFID chip is firmly attached to the wristband

We attach great importance to the protection of your data. Any use of the chip, for example Top-up or purchase of a drink is recorded which means you are not completely anonymous. However, you don't have to worry because this data will remain confidential and will not be passed on to third parties. We adhere to the applicable data protection rules.
As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the provision of the services and the processing of payment transactions and remaining credit and there are no legal storage requirements to the contrary, it will be deleted.

Registration and Top-up
We recommend that you register your ticket in advance and top up money online so that you can enjoy your festival stay without long waiting times at top-up stations. You do not have to register to be able to load money onto your chip on site. You should do this at the latest at the end of the event in order to get your remaining credit back after the event. You can do this online at cashless.wacken.com.
You can top up your credit online at any time free of charge via https://cashless.wacken.com or conveniently via our Wacken app.
To top up, you can also log into the event portal with your Wacken.ID and easily top up your credit there using the “Shop” button. If you don't have a Wacken.ID yet, you can creat it in advance at the Wacken Ticket Center.
You can top up your credit online at any time free of charge at http://cashless.wacken.com. We recommend that you do this from the comfort of your own home before you arrive. You will also find top-up stations on the Holy Ground where you can top up your chip with cash, EC, credit and debit cards. The terminals located there are designed for either cash or cards, and both variants are represented at all stations.

We charge a one-off service fee of €3.00 for the first charging at the stations.
You can view your current balance and the transactions already made at any time in the app or the event portal http://cashless.wacken.com. You can also have your balance displayed at the numerous top-up stations.
To give you as much flexibility as possible, there are no limits on how much you can top up. However, we recommend that you top up a little more money than you likely need so that you always have enough credit.
Only euros are accepted throughout the festival site so amounts in euros will be loaded onto your chip.
If you come from abroad this means: The exchange rate at which your top-up is debited and whether there are any fees for this conversion depends on your bank and the payment method you use. It is best to find out about your conditions from your bank in advance.
Credit management
From Monday, August 8th, 6:00 p.m. you can request a payout for your remaining balance via our event portal http://cashless.wacken.comor via our app. The money will be credited within 14 days of the application.
You also have the option of donating your remaining balance to the Wacken Foundation.
The chip can be removed from the wristband after the festival. However, it should be kept until the repayment is processed.

Payment
The staff at the stands will take your order and show you the amount that should be debited from your credit. Then you hold the chip to the device to confirm the purchase and trigger the payment. Your remaining credit will then be shown on the display and you will receive your ordered goods.
If you notice that the wrong amount has been debited, please speak to the employee directly so that the transaction can be canceled and the correct amount will be debited to you.
We charge a deposit of €2.00 on our reusable cups. This will be deducted from your credit for each drink ordered. If you return your mug, the deposit will be credited back to you.
Loss or defect of the RFID chip
If you have lost your wristband with chip or only your chip, please go to the trouble shooting at the wristband exchange as soon as possible.
If you have already registered in the event portal, the old chip can be blocked and your credit can be transferred.
If you have not yet registered online, you will need your festival ticket so that the staff can find you in the system and block the chip accordingly.

If you want to block your chip and the credit on it, you have to go to the trouble shooting at the wristband issue. There the staff can block the chip for you.
If your chip does not work, please go to the trouble shooting at the wristband exchange. A so-called chip repair can be carried out there and your credit can be transferred to a functioning chip.
